A teenage boy is in life-threatening condition after a crash between a car and a cyclist, in which the driver did not stop.

Road closures remain at Prince Regent Lane in Plaistow between the A13 and Maybury Road, after the crash yesterday (October 17).

Police were called to the scene at 2.21pm and a 15-year-old boy was found injured and taken to hospital.

In an update by the Met Police, the boy remains in a life-threatening condition and his next of kin are aware.

The driver of the car – which is believed to be a white Toyota Prius - failed to stop at the scene.

Police say officers are attempting to trace the car and the driver.

Bus routes including the 147, 262, 304, 376 and 473 continue to be diverted this morning.

A spokesperson for LAS said: “We were called today (October 17) at 2:22pm to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and cyclist on Prince Regent Lane, Plaistow.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including two ambulance crews and an advanced paramedic. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a teenager at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre.”

The incident is the second crash involving a cyclist on the same road this week.
