ELIZABETH RIDGEN died suddenly on Monday 21st December 2015, Elizabeth Ridgen also known as Liz, Lillian, Lil and Liza was a Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmot her, Nan and friend, the fiercest supporter and most valiant defender of her family and friends. She lived in Newham all of her life. She was born in 1920 in Canning Town where she grew up, before moving to Upton Lane, Forest Gate, then to West Ham, then to various places in Forest Gate including, Romford Road and Forest Street and finally to Domney Court, St Antonys Road where she lived her last days. She was community spirited and always generous, loving, caring and constantly active. She was a survivor and outlived 3 husbands. She was trying to last to 100, not to get a telegram as she would say, but to get one of the Queens hats! Lizs impact and passing has been felt far and wide in Europe, Africa, North America and Australia. Her family and friends there mourn her departure, but celebrate her life. Liz was a rock around which all our lives revolved and was one constant in an ever changing sea. She will be deeply and profoundly missed. She is survived by 6 children, 29 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchi ldren and a multitude of family and close friends.
