The kevin Jenkins OBE Newham Christmas Toy Appeal aims to provide each young person referred to the appeal with a stocking of new gifts specific to their age, needs and abilities.
If you're not sure what to donate, bear in mind that the appeal helps young people from two months to 16 years old. Gifts that have both a play and educational value are encouraged, and anything that promotes war and/or violence is not suitable.
The appeal's organisers recommend purchasing gifts that have the Lion Mark C' accreditation on them, which indicates that the item concerned is child friendly and safe for use by young people within the specific age range given.
For very young children, items such as rattles and rollers are good options, as are shape sorters, push and pull toys and building blocks.
Other gifts you could purchase include annuals or story bokos for any age, colouring sets, soft toys, musical instruments, dolls and accessories and Lego or Duplo sets.
Items can be dropped off at the Terence Brown Arc in the Park or ordered via the Amazon wishlist at amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/1PSGXVJ0PIR4f
