Halloween is upon us and you’re more likely to get a fright closer to home than watching scary movies, with one in three Newham residents experiencing ghostly activity.
According to data compiled by adult education provider, City Lit, 33.3 per cent of people living in the borough have had a paranormal experience.
Overall, a quarter of London residents have seen a ghost in their borough, according to the data.
Examples of some of the spooky experiences that have happened in London include two elderly ladies kneeling at the bottom of someone’s bed praying, a woman from the Victorian era in the middle of a street at 12am and a figure resembling that of a relative who had passed away.
Director of sales and marketing at City Lit, Chris Jones, said: “London is the home to some of the most haunted areas and buildings, so it’s not surprising to find that a quarter of Londoners have seen a ghost.
