If you’ve enjoyed looking at the bus sculptures around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park over the past couple of months, then there’s a treat in store for you.
All 60 sculptures, which have been on four trails around the capital since October, will be on display at the park for one weekend only.
The sculptures, which celebrate Transport for London’s year of the bus, will be removed on January 11, but those from Croydon, Westminster and along the Thames will join the Olympic Park’s collection on January 24 and 25.
Painted by artists both well-known and aspiring, the collection will be auctioned off next month, with profits split between Transaid, Kids Company and London Transport Museum.
Leon Daniels, TfL’s managing director for surface transport, said: “These bus sculptures are a stunning addition to the capital’s streetscape.
“What is fantastic is that these sculptures also allow us to promote British artists, the bus industry, encourage walking and raise money for three admirable charities.”
