A slew of remembrance services will take place across the borough as residents remember those who have fallen on the 100th anniversary year of the First World War.
On Sunday, November 9, the following events are taking place.
East Ham Cenotaph will hold a parade that will assemble at Newham Town Hall, East Ham, then march to Central Park at 10.30am.
After a service at 11.45am the parade will march back to the Town Hall on High Street South.
All Saints West Ham Parish Church are having a service by Rev Stennett Kirby starting at 10.40am. Guests are asked to be seated by 10.30am in the Church Road venue.
St Mark’s Memorial parade will assemble at The Royal British Legion, Constance Street, North Woolwich at 10.15am.
The parade to Factory Road, less than half a mile away, will start at 10.20am. The service itself will start at 10.50pm.
St Luke’s Memorial service will start at 10.40am on Tarling Road, Canning Town, and will be led by Rev Emeka Ejinkonye. Anyone wishing to attend the service is asked to arrive by 10.30am.
On Tuesday, November 11, there will be a service at the East Ham Cenotaph, High Street South starting at 10.50am.
A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am, marking the end of the First World War.
