A director has been appointed to a sixth form school in Forest Gate as students start after their summer break.

Until now St Angela’s and St Bonaventure’s Sixth Form Centre in St George’s Road only had one diretor.

But now the centre, which brings together boys from St Bonaventure’s and girls from St Angela’s schools for the sixth form will have two directors.

Newcomer Wayne Templeman will act as a coordinator for students at the St Bonaventure site, while liaising with St Angela’s director Sarah Siaw, who previously oversaw both sites.

This year St Angela’s and St Bonaventure’s Sixth Form had the highest pass rate for A-levels in Newham at 99.5 per cent.

After his first day of meeting students Mr Templeman said: “All the students seem keen to start learning which is fantastic. Both the Year 12 and Year 13 cohort have been spurred on by our excellent results and they’re ready to accept the challenges this year brings. They seem really focused which is great.

“Personally, I’m thrilled to be working more closely with the students and want them to be able to come and talk to me anytime with any concerns they might have. I’m here to help and guide them with any aspect of their chosen course. My door is always open.”
