A man who was a suspect in the murder of a woman is believed to have been found dead in a Stratford river, according to police.
A Met Police spokesperson said that detectives found a man's body in water near to Blaker Road at around 7.30pm on Friday, October 28.
They added that police are "confident" the dead man is Miguel Angel Alvarez Florentino.
Mr Florentino was named as a suspect in an appeal issued by the Met last week after the death of 53-year-old Yolanda Saldana Feliz.
Yolanda and another woman were found stabbed in Windmill Lane, Stratford at about 3.35am on Sunday, October 23.
Yolanda died at the scene and the second woman, 30, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Mr Florentino was known to both women, police said.
The Met spokesperson said his death is being treated as "unexpected" but is not thought to be suspicious.
"His next of kin have been informed," they added.
"Yolanda’s family has been made aware of this significant development. They continue to be supported by specialist officers."
