The Great Britain men's national basketball team will have a strong London connection for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers this month.
Head coach Marc Steutel has confirmed a 24-man roster for upcoming games against Serbia and Latvia, which includes seven London-born players and six current members of the London Lions.
Amin Adamu, Ashley Hamilton, Kayne Henry, Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye, Teddy Okereafor, Gabe Olaseni, Carl Wheatle and Jordan Williams are named alongside Lions' Luke Nelson, Kareem Queally, Josh Sharma, Ovie Soko, Mo Soluade and Devon van Oostrum, who have been in fine form for Ryan Schmidt's side in the BBL and EuroCup.
GB takes to the court to host the Serbs at Newcastle's Vertu Motors Arena on November 11, before travlling to Riga to face the Latvians on November 14.
And they have already made national team history by reaching the second qualifying round for the first time, vying for one of the top three positions in Group I to advance to the final tournament in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines next summer.
“We’ve got a monumental task ahead of us against two basketball powerhouses," said Steutel.
"But this is why we compete and there were a lot of positives for us from our last qualifier against Latvia, including our defensive application, how we stuck to the scout and the game plan.
"We’ve just got to embody all of those things again and work towards the outcome that we desire from these games.
"Any time you’re selected to represent this team, especially against a powerhouse like Serbia, it is very exciting, and to go up against Latvia again in Riga will be something to look forward to.
"We’ve created a great family environment in camp between the players and staff and it is a really special feeling to be a part of this group, so I can’t wait to bring us all back together and start trying to build something again over the coming months."
The GB men's team celebrates its 75th anniversary this season, having played its first international against Italy in Turin in May 1948.
If selected for both games, van Oostrum will become the 14th player to reach the 50-cap milestone, while Dan Clark is set for his first cap as general manager, having played 119 times as GB's most-capped player in its 75-year history.
Clark is the all-time leader in points scored (1,111), rebounds (555), offensive rebounds (142), defensive rebounds (413), blocked shots (73), field goals made (399) and three-pointers (167), and second in assists (148).
Tickets for the GB v Serbia game on November 11 are on sale via the Newcastle Eagles box office.
