A Newham man arrested following an alleged sexual assault in Essex has been bailed.
Essex Police attended a home in Harwich after receiving a call from a member of the public at around 6.10am on January 8, due to concerns for the welfare of a woman.
A 32-year-old man was soon identified by officers and arrested.
He was later questioned on suspicion of a serious sexual assault and has since been released on bail until March 28.
Following the arrest, Det Ch Insp Dan Morrissey, of Essex Police’s public protection unit, said: “Officers in Harwich responded incredibly quickly to this call and that has meant we were very quickly able to identify someone we would like to speak to.
