A cyclist has suffered non-life threatening injuries after cars collided with him on the A13 in east London.

Officers of Met Police were called at around 10am today (July 28) to reports of a collision on the A13 eastbound in Dagenham.

London Ambulance Service deployed an ambulance crew and a clinical team manager to the scene.

They found that the man, a cyclist, had been hit by two cars at the junction between the A13 and Gale Street.

Medics treated the man on site before taking him to a major trauma centre as a priority.

A Met Police spokesperson said the man's leg and head were injured, but the injuries are not considered to be serious.

The AA had reported that two lanes were closed on the A13 and there was congestion between A13 (Lodge Avenue flyover) and A1306 (Goresbrook Interchange). The roads have since reopened.

No arrests have been made by the police.

The incident comes a day after a car overturned at the junction of Rom Valley Way and Rush Green Road in Romford
