An East Ham NatWest cash machine experienced a major error, releasing extra money to customers withdrawing from it.
A video posted on social media showed crowds gathered outside the cash machine, which was reportedly releasing double and triple the intended withdrawal amounts.
Locals took to Facebook to announce the "free money" from the cashpoint.
One anonymous user said: "*Free Money at Natwest* (East Ham Branch) ATM Dispensing Double,Treble Money, in error.
"Huge crowd fighting to access the machine."
A spokesperson for NatWest said: "Due to a one-off manual error, a number of transactions at one ATM dispensed more cash than the requested amount.
"This has since been fixed and customers can use this ATM as normal."
