Smoke was seen coming from a train carriage after a suspected arson.
The carriage of the Tube has “suffered extensive damage” after it was up in flames following the suspected attack at Leyton Underground Station on Saturday (December 2).
Officers were called just before 11.50pm to a report of a bag which had melted into the floor of a train.
It is believed the train pulled into the station at around 10.13pm and smoke was seen coming from it.

In one video shared online, the entire carriage is recorded full of smoke while flames can be seen on the floor.
The British Transport Police says detectives are asking for information and witnesses, particularly anyone who was on the train and took photos or videos of the incidents, to contact by calling 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016 referencing 747-021223.
Information can also be shared anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
