Two men have been arrested after a police chase saw the discovery and seizure of a gun in East Ham.
Police were originally called to Lonsdale Avenue based on reports of two men acting suspiciously on January 29.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers attended the scene but the suspects fled, there was a short police pursuit which resulted in the two men being detained.
"Police seized a firearm that was recovered during the chase, a crime scene was put in place which has now closed."
The incident occurred at 3.25pm. Both men remain in custody pending further investigation.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) were also dispatched to the scene.
A spokesperson for LAS said: “We were called at 3.31pm on Monday 29 January to reports of an incident on Lonsdale Avenue, East Ham.
“We sent an ambulance crew and a clinical team manager to the scene.
“We treated a patient at the scene before taking them to hospital.”
It is unclear what injury the patient was treated for.
One social media user commented: "Whats happened down Lonsdale Avenue this evening ? Road closed, police car in the middle of the road, tape across the road ??"
