A person has been taken to hospital after a casualty on the tracks at an east London Tube station.

Emergency services scrambled to Upton Park station this morning (April 26) at around 6.43am following the reports of a casualty.

Paramedics also attended and a person was taken to hospital.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”

During the morning there was no service between Tower Hill and Upminster on the District line, with severe delays on the rest of the line.

There was also no service on the entire Hammersmith & City line.

Meanwhile the Metropolitan line faced minor delays between Baker Street and Aldgate, also due to the incident.

As of publication, both the Hammersmith & City and District line have reopened but still face severe delays hours later.

When emergency services were at the scene, Green Street was partially blocked both ways at Queens Road.

There was congestion to Plashet Road and back to Barking Road. Buses including the 58, 104, 330 and 376 were being detoured.
