A Chinese restaurant has been named Newham's top takeaway joint by Just Eat.
Beijing House in Plaistow was crowned the most popular independent restaurant in Newham, in new data from the online food delivery company.
Just Eat's research reveals favourite takeaway trends among residents across four London boroughs, including Newham, Lambeth, Greenwich, and Barking and Dagenham.
While chicken and Chinese cuisine were popular choices among several boroughs, the study found Newham's residents seem to have a special liking for Chinese food.
Despite the broader trend, Caribbean food also has a place in the hearts of Newham residents.
Caribbean Charcoal has been named as the borough's 'hidden gem' - the takeaway restaurant that was popular and highly rated as soon as it arrived on the app.
Mohammed Kabir at Caribbean Charcoal said: "Our aim is to bring sunshine to Newham residents’ doors with our Caribbean food.
"We pride ourselves on being masters of Caribbean cooking, and we’re thrilled that our island cooking continues to prove popular with our customers."
Chicken orders top the list in Newham, Lambeth and Greenwich, followed by Chinese cuisine.
Fabian Fuchs, Just Eat UK London director, said: "We're thrilled to unveil the latest insights into the capital’s vibrant takeaway scene, showcasing the diverse food preferences across London boroughs.
"This data highlights the diversity that makes London's food culture so exciting, and we're proud to offer exclusive discounts to celebrate the local restaurants that bring joy to our customers' tables."
