The London Fire Brigade has confirmed that a child was the victim of a fatal house fire in East Ham this morning.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene in Napier Road today (July 13) after around 40 firefighters battled a fire in a terraced house.
Emergency responders were alerted to the blaze at approximately 8.27am, that saw London's Air Ambulance dispatched to the scene.
The charity is only sent out to help London's most seriously ill patients.
Half of the first floor and half of the ground floor of the home were damaged in the fire, with an additional five people requiring further care at a major trauma centre.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
