A library in Manor Park has been closed for emergency repairs.
Manor Park Library in Romford Road is registering as 'temporarily closed' according to Google.
The library, run by Newham Council, was shut unexpectedly this week, leaving visitors concerned that it could be closed permanently.
The council has confirmed this is not the case.
A spokesperson from Newham Council said: “Manor Park Library is temporarily closed due to emergency repairs.
“Regular maintenance work at the building revealed that some treatment is required for the ventilation and air conditioning system.
"Due to the nature of this work the building is not safe for people to be inside while it's carried out.
“There is absolutely no suggestion the library will be closed permanently and we look forward to inviting residents back in the very near future.

"It will be reopened as soon as possible, only after it is deemed safe for residents and staff to return.
"In the meantime, residents can attend our nine other libraries which are open as usual, offering activities for all ages.”
The council has been unable to confirm what works are being undertaken inside the venue.
