Four men were stabbed after an incident near a restaurant.
Romford Road in Forest Gate was shut for most of Saturday (August 10) after reports were made of a group of men trying to enter a restaurant at about 3.45am, armed with a knife.
According to Newham Council, the restaurant was reportedly the Bronze Royal African Bar.
Once officers were at the scene, three men were found with stab injuries.
Another call was made later reporting a man with stab injuries on the same road, near the junction of Sprowston Road.
He was found with wounds to his leg and taken to hospital, where he remains.
The Metropolitan Police said: "At this early stage no arrests have been made but urgent enquiries are ongoing."
