A man has died from his wounds after being stabbed in a fight.

Saley Beya, 38, was found by emergency services suffering stab injuries in Romford Road, near the junction with Woodgrange Road, on August 10.

Metropolitan Police officers were dispatched to the street at 3.40am after receiving reports of a group of men trying to enter a restaurant with a knife.

At the bar, three men were found with stab wounds. 

Saley was found by officers and paramedics a short while later with stab wounds to his leg.

He was taken to hospital where he fought for his life but died as a result of his injuries on Thursday (August 29).

His family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with section 18 GBH,,

Scotland Yard will now liaise with the Crown Prosecution Service to amend the indictment.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses and information about the incident. 

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “We still need people with information to come forward and tell us what they know about this tragic incident.

“Our enquiries have established that there was traffic in Romford Road, including two buses, and people would have seen these events unfold. There was also a car which had to stop in the road as the attack took place.

“I would urge anyone who saw this incident, or anyone who took images or footage of the attack, to get in contact immediately.”
