A man who regularly made the 90-mile journey from Newham to East Hampshire to sell crack cocaine has been jailed.
Dadhurshanan Wairaiya, 26, was arrested on the A31 near Halton and 30 bags of crack cocaine wraps, a bag of cannabis and two mobile phones were found in his Nissan Qashqai.
He later pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply and possession of a cannabis drug.
Hampshire Police said the car was identified as it had made regular trips between London, Farnham and East Hampshire.
Last Friday (August 30) Wairaiya, of Ravenhill Road, East Ham, was jailed for five years by a judge at Salisbury Crown Court.
DC Becky Deacon said: “This is a significant sentence that demonstrates that we will not tolerate the supply of drugs in East Hampshire.
“Our message to those involved in the supply of drugs is simple. We will relentlessly pursue you until you face a day in court if you take part in similar activities.”
She added: “Drug supply causes harm and misery to our communities and we will continue to disrupt it and make sure that Hampshire & the Isle of Wight remains a hostile environment for drug dealers to operate in.”
