Public toilets in a state of "disrepair" at a park in Manor Park could be replaced with a new cafe.
A planning application has been submitted to Newham Council seeking approval for the public loos in Little Ilford Park to be turned into the Little Ilford Cafeteria.
According to documents accompanying the proposal, the toilets have been closed to the public "for many years due to vandalism and being in a state of disrepair".
The existing facilities of urinals and five toilets would be upgraded as part of the development, being replaced with a unisex toilet and a disabled loo with baby changing facilities.
The metal roof in place on the bathroom block will remain in place, with timber cladding added to the external walls, and upgraded windows and doors fitted.
A retractable canopy with outdoor seating will be installed on the surrounding tarmac which will be repaired.
The plans have been put forward by Newham Council after the details were discussed with the public.

The project has been awarded funding by the Levelling Up Fund for its completion by March 31, 2025.
If approved, the new facilities would be open to the public and park users during daylight hours and managed by a third party.
