A teenager shot in a double shooting in Forest Gate has died.
Corey Junior Davis died in hospital just after 10pm yesterday after he suffered gunshot wounds in an incident in Moore Walk.
A murder investigation has been launched with borough commander Chief Supt Ade Adelekan stepping up police patrols in Newham amid concerns of “tit for tat” gang violence.
Officers were called to the scene at 3.10pm and found Corey and a 17-year-old boy with gunshot injuries.
They were taken to an east London hospital where Corey passed away.
A post-mortem will be held in due course, police said.
The second victim, aged 17, remains in hospital “in a stable condition with potentially life changing injuries.”
No arrests have been made.
Det Chief Insp Dave Whellams said: “This is a very tragic incident, a teenage boy’s life has been taken in an extreme act of violence leaving his family utterly devastated.
“We are pursuing all lines of enquiry to catch the person responsible for Corey’s murder and are keen to hear from anyone who believes they might have information to come forward as it could prove vital to our investigation.
“Our thoughts are with Corey’s family at this very difficult time.”
