A patient who went missing from Newham General Hospital following major head surgery has been found safe and well at his home in Manor Park.
Robert Johns left the hospital without staff knowledge at approximately 5.05pm on Tuesday night in a very confused state.
His worried family contacted the police and circulated posters but found that he walked from the Plaistow hospital in Glen Road all the way to his house in Ruskin Avenue.
The 53-year-old, who was recovering from a stroke, was admitted to the Heather Ward Stroke Unit for major head surgery at Queens Hospital in Romford on October 14 and was transferred to Newham General for rehabilitation.
His family report that Robert is now safely back in hospital.
