St Bonaventure’s year eight boys were crowned Essex Cup kings after beating Great Baddow in the final last week.
The Newham pupils took the lead with a wonder strike from Grant Bonsu, but were then hit as their rivals got back on level terms before half time.
Divin Mubama restored the lead for Bons after the restart with a right-footed finish after the Baddow keeper could not hold an earlier effort from Ignatius Marfo.
And Zinnell Royes then proved a super sub as he made it 3-1 before providing a great assist for Divin Mubama, who finished with a first time shot with his left left from outside the box to secure the trophy for the boys in black and gold.
PE teacher Simon Firth said: “This was well appreciated by our travelling fans who were sent crazy in the knowledge that the Essex Cup would be coming back to East London!”
Captain Mubama was man of the match for St Bons.
