London Lions had double reason to cheer at Crystal Palace on Bank Holiday Monday.
Their women booked a place in the semi-finals of the WBBL play-offs with a convincing 86-37 win over Newcastle Eagles.
And the men completed their own two-legged success over their Newcastle counterparts to progress to the last four in the BBL play-offs.
An emphatic 108-78 first-leg win in the North East on Friday had put Ryan Schmidt's BBL league and cup winners in control of the tie.
But they were made to work hard in the return leg as the Eagles showed fighting spirit and kept the Lions' lead to a minimum, heading into the fourth quarter trailing by only four points.
However, the Lions' quality eventually shone through to secure a 99-86 win on the day, as Josh Sharma and Jordan Taylor scored 18 points apiece, and a 207-164 aggregate score to advance to a date with Cheshire Phoenix.
A strong start lifted the Lions women past their rivals in a one-off encounter.
With Kiki Herbert Harrigan at a WNBA training camp, they were led by Holly Winterburn's 21 points and a further 15 from Ty Battle.
Lions are looking to emulate their heroic efforts from last season in securing a domestic clean sweep having already won the WBBL Championship, Trophy and Cup.
After a 52-game unbeaten streak was ended earlier this season, the WBBL play-off title is the last jewel to add to their crown.
They now play Sevenoaks Suns and a date at the O2 Arena on May 14 for the finals awaits for the winners.
